Degree Requirements for Bachelor of Arts in Middle Childhood Education
Under Ohio licensure requirements, a Middle Childhood teacher must specialize in two of four subject-matter fields in any combination. These areas of concentration (AOC) are:
- Mathematics
- Reading and Language Arts
- Science
- Social Studies
Completion of this program provides:
- initial preparation to teach 4th - 9th grade
- first-hand experience in 4th - 9th grade classrooms
- experience with active learning methods in college courses
- in-depth course work in subject-matter fields
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with an Education minor
