The First Education Experience Program (FEEP)
FEEP is designed to give students an understanding of careers in education. This 8 credit hour class is offered every quarter except summer and includes 4 days a week with a school professional. FEEP is an elective for the ASC MCE major.

GRADUATE INFORMATION

School of Teaching & Learning
The School of Teaching and Learning offers programs leading to the Ohio teaching licenses. Requirements for these programs are available on this web site.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
GRE test scores are used by graduate school admissions or fellowship panels to supplement undergraduate records and other qualifications for graduate study. The scores provide common measures for comparing the qualifications of applicants and aid in evaluating grades and recommendations.


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Adopt-A-School
A student organization at The Ohio State University in which its volunteers tutor students at nearby Indianola Middle School (IMS) and with Hilliard CARES.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Community based, site based, and one-on-one mentoring

Buckeye Mentoring Hub
An organization designed to provide OSU students with ongoing mentoring resources, training, and support

COSI (Center for Science & Industry)
Volunteer and unpaid internship opportunities available working with individuals to bring out their inquisitive nature incorporating methods such as inquiry, theatre, and demonstration.

KidsCONNECT Program
A program of the Education Council providing After-School programs and service learning projects for students in southeastern Franklin County

Salesian Boys and Girls Club
Promotes the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and power or influence.

Salvation Army
After School Learning Centers (ASLC) are education programs for students in grades one through eight in the Columbus Public School.

VIVA-RAP
A multicultural after-school program for US born and immigrant 7th & 8th grade students housed at Rosemore Middle School in Whitehall, Ohio 614-262-9124


JOB OPPORTUNITIES

City Year Columbus
An AmeriCorps program that unites 17-24 year olds in 10 months of full time National Service. The primary focus is to tutor and mentor elementary students, as well as lead others in service to revitalize Columbus and Central Ohio. For college students, it is a break from academic theory and a chance to experience and practice what they learned in the classroom and potentially prepare them to enter a career in the field of their choice.

Teach for America
The national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity.
